The position of university controller was created earlier this year. Kiddoo has serve as the university's interim controller for the past six months.
"Dr. Kiddoo is one of the hardest working and most knowledgeable people at the institution," said Art Elbert, vice president for administration and finance. "He is the perfect person for this job."
Elbert said Kiddoo will be responsible for all financial aspects of the university, from accounting, coordinating audits and creating a new financial system to developing monthly financial reports and analyses on which future budgets will be built.
"Having been a long-standing member of the faculty, he also has a very solid grasp of the needs of the institution, which is a major asset for this position," Elbert said.
Kiddoo received his bachelor's degree from UCLA in 1960, a master of science degree in business administration from Cal State Northridge in 1969, a master of business administration from USC in 1972, and a doctorate in business administration from USC in 1978.
He has been a professor in CSUN's department of accounting and management information systems since 1974, and served as director of graduate programs for CSUN's then School of Business Administration and Economics from 1970 to 1976. He has served on several university committees and organizations, including the Faculty Senate.
Kiddoo has extensive experience in the private sector. Most recently he was executive vice president of Kirk-Mayer, Inc. of Los Angeles from 1990 to 1992.
Kiddoo said he was pleased with his appointment.
"I am very excited to have an opportunity to see through some of the initiatives that have been started in bringing (the university's) accounting system into line with general accounting principles," he said.
