Instant Admissions for Future CSUN Students
Cal State Northridge is offering "Instant Admissions Days" Monday, Nov. 10, and Tuesday, Nov. 11, for high school and transfer students hoping to attend the university next fall.
With university officials planning to close admissions to new freshmen at the end of November, the "Instant Admissions Days" may be the only opportunity for some students to make sure they attend Cal State Northridge in Fall 1998.
Qualified students will be notified on the spot of their eligibility for admissions to the university.
Instant admissions will take place from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 10 and 11 in the University Student Union on the east side of the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St. in Northridge. Free parking will be available.
To participate, future students must have:
- a completed California State University application with the application fee of $55 (check or money order) or a completed fee waiver request form;
- transcripts from current high school, community college and/or other colleges/universities attended;
- test scores from either the SAT I or ACT. Students with a GPA below 3.0 must have test scores to receive an admissions determination. If scores are not yet available, applications and other documents will be collected;
- a minimum GPA of 2.0 for both freshmen and transfer students (2.4 for non-residents); and
- proof of citizenship if necessary.
Community college transfer students must have 56 transferable units. Before an evaluation can be done, evidence that all four basic subject requirements-oral communication, written communication, critical thinking and quantitative reasoning-will be met by the end of Spring 1998 must be provided.
Students interested in applying for the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) must have all four supplementary forms completed.
For more information or to make admissions appointments, call the Office of Student Outreach and Recruitment Services at (818) 677-2967.
