The new members are Ronald Consiglio, the chief executive officer for the Angeles Mortgage Investment Trust; Ronald Friedman, the managing partner for Stonefield Josephson; Anthony Palma, president of Easton Sports Inc.; and Peter Schwab, president of the Foothill Capital Corporation. All are graduates of Cal State, Northridge.
This totals 34 members, from a variety of business interests, who will provide valuable external imput to Dean William R. Hosek, in shaping the curriculum, academic programs and services for more than 5,000 students in the College of Business administration and Economics.
The council, which was established in 1989, has been successful in enhancing the role of internships, identifying ways to strengthen the curriculum and initiating new courses such as a student portfolio management seminar in which students get real-world experience in managing and investing money. It also has established the center for the study of the San Fernando Valley economy. .
