The event is sponsored by the CSUN Police Department and the Los Angeles Police Department's Community Effort to Combat Auto Theft.
Personnel from Safelite Auto Glass will be etching windows for $19.95 a vehicle between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the university campus at the northeast corner of Lassen Street and Lindley Avenue.
Etching the VIN number into every window of a vehicle is an effective and inexpensive way to help prevent auto theft, according to law enforcement authorities.
