"The Most Happy Fella" Visits Northridge

A romance between a middle-aged grape grower and a young waitress will blossom later this month when Frank Loesser's "The Most Happy Fella" makes its way to Cal State Northridge's stage.

The Broadway musical, produced in collaboration by the univrsity's Theatre and Music Departments, will be presented in the Campus Theatre from Oct. 18 to 27.

The production is under the direction of David W. Scott, a nationally recognized voice trainer of such singers as Carol Vaness of the Metropolitan Opera, and will feature performances by opera-trained singers and actors.

The lead roles of Tony and Rosabella are sung on alternate nights by Gabriel Manro and Susie Storey, and Michael Suffolk and Moira McCarty. Anely Arsow, Claire Daigle, Michael Hiscocks, Ryan Parr, Kristina Sandahl, Marian Sandstrom, Andrew Samonsky and Anthony Silva round out the cast.

Performances are at 8 p.m. on Oct. 18, 19, 23-26 and at 5 p.m. on Oct. 20 and 27. Ticket prices range from $7 to $12.
