Foreign Press Association Awards Northridge $15,000

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association awarded Cal State Northridge's Radio-Television-Film Department $15,000 for student scholarships earlier this month.

The money was presented to department chair Judy Marlane by association president Philip Berk, a Northridge alumnus at the association's annual installation luncheon on Sept. 10 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

"We couldn't be happier to receive such a distinguished scholarship from such a wonderful organization as the Hollywood Foreign Press Association," Marlane said. "The award is even more gratifying because it was given to us by an alumnus of the university."

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association comprises of international journalists who report on the entertainment industry and hosts the Golden Globe Awards each year.
