Treasures of the Oviatt Library

(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Nov. 11, 2004) -- Cal State Northridge is showing off the "Treasures of the Oviatt Library" during a special exhibit that runs through March 2005.

The exhibition displays some of the rare documents and artifacts kept in the library's special collections and archives.

Among the items on displays are spy records of Nazi activities in Los Angeles before World War II, and late 19th and 20th century photographs, books, and artifacts from the expatriate community in China. These items and others come from such Oviatt collections as the International Guitar Research Archives, Old China Hands Archives, Special Collections, and the Urban Archives.

The exhibit is in the C.K. and Teresa Tseng Gallery on the second floor of the west wing of the Oviatt Library in the center of campus at 18111 Nordhoff St. in Northridge.

Library hours are 7:45 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays. The library will be closed Nov. 25 and 26 for the Thanksgiving holidays.
