CSUN Offers One-Stop Admissions for
Transferring Community College Students
(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Oct. 18, 2004) -- Community college students interested in transferring to Cal State Northridge next spring or fall can do everything they need to, including get admitted, at on-site admissions day events later this month at two local community colleges.
University recruitment officials will visit Los Angeles Valley College, 5300 Fulton Ave. in Van Nuys, on Thursday, Oct. 21, and Moorpark College, 7075 Campus Rd. in Moorpark, on Thursday, Oct. 28, to give community college students a chance to apply to one of the Southland's top universities. If eligible, students will be told on the spot if they have a place at Cal State Northridge next year.
Students must bring a completed CSU application, an official or unofficial copy of transcripts from all colleges they have attended and $55 for the application fee or a completed fee waiver form.
To be eligible to apply to Cal State Northridge, students interested in attending CSUN in Spring 2005 must have at least 56 transferable units. They will need 60 transferable units if they are interested in attending in Fall 2005. Students must have a 2.0 GPA if they are California residents and a 2.4 GPA if not, and have taken classes in four basic subject areas--written communication, oral communication, critical thinking and math.
Representatives from CSUN academic colleges, the Educational Opportunity Program, financial aid, housing and student development will be at both events to answer questions.
