MERGED: Future Art Designers Collaborative Exhibit
(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Sept. 27, 2004) -- California State University, Northridge's Art Galleries presents MERGED, the first collaborative graphic design exhibition featuring works from students of regional institutions.
The exhibition opens Saturday, Oct. 9 and continues through Nov. 13 in the Main Art Gallery at the north end of campus at 18111 Nordhoff St. in Northridge.
The show includes work by 60 student representatives from institutions such as the Art Center College of Design, California Institute of the Arts, CSU Long Beach, Northridge, Otis College of Art and Design, UCLA Extension, and Woodbury University. These future Southern California designers will show their work in a variety of media. Individual instructors from each school selected students to participate.
Southern California is renowned for its graphic design industry, and for the colleges, which ran future designers. The exhibition is an overview of what might be seen by these up and coming young professionals.
An open reception will take place on Oct. 9 from 7-9 p.m. A public lecture and gallery tour starts at 10 a.m. on Oct. 11.
