CSUN's Cinematheque to Feature a
Nicholas Kazan Retrospective this Month
(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Oct. 6, 2004) -- Cal State Northridge's Cinematheque series pays tribute this month to acclaimed screenwriter, director, producer and playwright Nicholas Kazan with a retrospective of some of his work.
Kazan, director of such films as Reversal of Fortune and Taking Lives, will be on hand to answer questions from the audience at one of two screenings of his movies. He also will take part in a reading of one of his unproduced scripts.
The events, which are open to the public, will take place in the Alan and Elaine Armer Theater in Northridge's Manzanita Hall, located at the southwest corner of the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St.
At Close Range and Fallen will be screened on Monday, Oct. 11, with the first movie to be shown at 5 p.m., followed by the second at 7 p.m. Kazan will answer questions following the screening of the second movie at about 9 p.m.
Matilda and Bicentennial Man will be shown on Monday, Oct. 18. The first feature screens at 5 p.m., followed by the second at 7 p.m. Kazan will not be attending that event due to a scheduling conflict.
On Monday, Oct. 25, Kazan will take part in a staged reading of one of his scripts beginning at 7 p.m. The evening will be hosted by David Kipen, book reviewer for the San Francisco Chronicle and KCRW.
