CSUN to Host Symposium On Dealing
With Grief During the Holidays

(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Oct. 26, 2004) -- Getting through the holidays can be hard, particularly if you have lost a loved one.

Cal State Northridge's gerontology program will host a "Grief During the Holiday Symposium" on Friday, Nov. 12, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Grand Salon of the University Student Union, located in the middle of campus at 18111 Nordhoff Street, Northridge.

The symposium will include presentations on such topics "Coping with Grief During the Holidays" by Kristine A. Kevorkian, doctor and co-chair of San Fernando Valley End of Life Coalition and a faculty member at Antioch University, L.A.; and "Avoiding Grief through Advance Care Planning" by Viki Kind, a bioethics consultant and lecturer.

The cost is free, but parking is $4 in Lot G4 on Zelzah between Nordhoff and Plummer. A parking permit can be purchased at the kiosk, but it only takes exact change.

For more information, contact Debra Sheets at (818) 677-2344 or e-mail debra.sheets@csun.edu.
