CSUN to Celebrate Music Therapy Day LA

What:

Musicians and therapists from throughout Southern California will gather at Cal State Northridge on Saturday to explore how music provides therapeutic solutions for people with a variety of physical or emotional problems.

Acclaimed keyboardist Freddie Ravel, a Northridge alumnus, and singer, composer and actress Maureen McGovern, founder of the "Works of Heart" Project for Music and Healing, will be on hand to help celebrate the day with performances and demonstrations.

The Music Therapy Wellness Clinic at California State University, Northridge provides music therapy to people from throughout the area. It also serves as a setting in which music therapy students and professionals can observe and participate in music therapy sessions with diverse populations, utilizing various music therapy models.
