The workshop, which will be taught by Northridge faculty, will take place on Friday, Oct. 24, and Saturday, Oct. 25 in the university's College of Business and Economics, located on the west side of the campus near Etiwanda Avenue and Plummer Street.

The workshop is designed to provide educators with a overview of specific segments of the insurance industry.

Topics will include an introduction to risk and insurance, the basics of risk management, automobile insurance, homeowners insurance, life insurance and annuities, health insurance and ethical issues in the insurance industry.

Breakfast and lunch as well as educational materials will be provided free of charge to the attendees.

Cal State Northridge's College of Extended Learning will award 1.5 continuing education units to all participants who complete the workshop. Teachers should contact their local school districts regarding salary credits/points for this offering in advance of registration.
