Fair to Mark Cesar Chavez's Legacy in the Community

What:

Cal State Northridge's Center for Community Service Learning will celebrate the legacy of the United Farm Workers leader Cesar Chavez with a community fair at the Panorama Mall.

"Cesar Chavez: Living His Legacy through Reading and Seeding," the result of a partnership between Northridge, the State of California, the Los Angeles Unified School District and Volunteers of America Los Angeles, will feature more than 30 interactive educational booths for children, art displays, performances by local artists and a keynote address by Julie Chavez Rodriguez, granddaughter of the late labor leader. State Assemblywoman Cindy Montanez is also expected to be there.

Every child who participates will get a free book and seedling in honor of Chavez's legacy.
