Career Center Director Recognized for Making a Difference

(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Aug. 23, 2002) - Adele Scheele, director of Cal State Northridge's Career Center, was honored this week by the Los Angeles Business Journal for her contributions to her profession and the community.

Scheele was one of six local women selected from more than 100 nominees as "Women Who Make a Difference." The winners were announced at a special reception Aug. 20.

Scheele said she was honored to receive recognition from the Business Journal. In addition to Scheele, the other honorees were CSUN alumna Lynne Doll, president of the public relations firm of Rogers and Associates, Janet Ault, vice President, PDQ Personnel Services, Inc., California Controller Kathleen Connell, Kathryn Schloessman, president of the Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment Commission, and former Los Angeles school board member Roberta Weintraub, who led the way for the creation of the Los Angeles Police Academy Magnet School.

Scheele is an internationally recognized career strategist and change management consultant. She also is the author of several career strategy books including Skills for Success, Career Strategies for the Working Woman, Making College Pay Off, The "Good" Student Trap and Jumpstart Your Career in College.
