CSUN's Art Galleries Feature Work by Some
Up and Coming High School Talent
(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Nov. 7, 2002) - Work by several up and coming high school artists will be featured in a new exhibit at Cal State Northridge's Art Galleries next month.
"Coming UpŠ," the university's sixth annual high school art invitational, opens in the Main Gallery on Dec. 6 and features the work of nearly 300 students from 38 San Fernando Valley high schools.
The exhibitors have been selected by their individual art teachers at each school. Their works represent a variety of media, including painting, sculpting, video, graphic design and mixed media.
The university will host a reception for the artists and their families from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6.
The Main Gallery is located on North University Drive (formerly Plummer Street) at the north end of the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St. in Northridge.
Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Parking is available in Lots B6 and E6 and in student lots for $4 on weekdays and weeknights. Parking permits can be obtained from the information booths at Lindley Avenue and Nordhoff Street or at Prairie Street and Darby Avenue.
