Cal State Northridge Lecture Series Presents:
"Womenıs Status in Modern China"

(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Sept. 25, 2002) - The status of women in China will be discussed during a lecture by Cal State Northridge political science professor Jane Bayes on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

The public is invited to join Bayes as she talks about her recent trip to China where she met with women leaders and scholars to explore the current status of women in Chinese society.

The lecture will take place from 10 a.m. to noon in conference room 1214 of the Education Building on the west side of the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St. in Northridge.

The talk is part of CSUNıs China Institute and Office of Graduate Studies, Research and International Programsı 2002-2003 Lecture Series.

Bayes traveled to a variety of regions, from the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai to the minority area of Yunnan Province. During her lecture, Bayes will share her impressions of Chinese women and compare their status with that of women in American societies. zsu@csun.edu.
