Congressman Brad Sherman's CSUN Speech Moved to Dec. 3
He Will Talk About How 'America Responds to Terrorism' '

(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Nov. 15, 2001) - U.S. Congressman Brad Sherman's presentation at Cal State Northridge on how "America Responds to Terrorism" has been moved to Monday, Dec. 3.

Sherman (D-Woodland Hills) was originally scheduled to speak at the campus on Dec. 4, but the demands of Congress require him to be in Washington D.C. that day, so his presentation was moved up.

On Dec. 3, Sherman will give a brief talk and then answer questions about terrorism and the war in Afghanistan. His presentation begins at 12:15 p.m. in CSUN's Performing Arts Center on the east side of the campus, off Zelzah Avenue.

"The events and aftermath of Sept. 11 have consumed our attention almost to the exclusion of anything else," said Dorena Knepper, CSUN's director of governmental affairs. "The uncertainties and questions we all have about so many issues - the war in Afghanistan, the issues of civil liberties, censorship and media coverage, the controversies over anthrax and immunizations, airport security - are overwhelming. Congressman Sherman's appearance on campus gives us all an opportunity to ask questions, share our views, and bring up our concerns."

Sherman is a member of the House of Representatives' Committee on International Relations and the House Subcommittee on the Middle East and South Asia.

For more information about Sherman's address, call Cal State Northridge's Office of Governmental Affairs at (818) 677-2124.
