CSUN to Host Dinner and Lecture Exploring Lead Trusts
as a Powerful Gift Planning Tool
(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Nov. 2, 2001) - Cal State Northridge's Planned Giving Office joins the Warner Center Estate and Tax Planning Council in hosting an informational talk on planning wealth transfers on Wednesday, Nov. 7.
"Lead Trusts are Back and Not Just for the Very Wealthy," will be the focus of guest speaker Philip Magaram's talk.
A certified specialist in taxation law and probate, estate planning and trust law, Magaram will explore new opportunities for planning transfers growing out of The 2001 Tax Reform Act, combined with historically low applicable federal rates and standard valuation discounts.
"The Lead Trust has reemerged as an essential gift planning tool for attorneys, accountants and financial and insurance professionals advising business owners and other successful individuals -- and not just the very wealthy," said Greg Buesing, CSUN's director of planned giving.
There will be a reception, with wine and hors d'oeuvres, at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and the program at 6 p.m.
The event will be held at CSUN's University Club located on the southeast side of campus, 18111 Nordhoff St., Northridge. Parking is available in Lot G1 and Lot G3 on Zelzah Avenue between Nordhoff and Prairie streets.
The cost to attend is $30. Members of the Warner Center Estate and Tax Planning Center are free.
