CSUN¹s Art Galleries To Exhibit the Works of
Five Cuban Artists

(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Sept. 14, 2001) - Cal State Northridge¹s Art Galleries will present the works of five Cuban artists in an exhibit to open Saturday, Oct. 6, and run through Wednesday, Nov. 10.

"Cuba: Five Odysseys" will exhibit the drawings and prints of Belkis Ayon, Carlos Estevez and Ibrahim Miranda, the sculptures of Fernando Rodriguez and the video installations of Raul Cordero.

This display of Cuban art visually conveys ideas from the artists¹ individual explorations of their cultural, social and geographic sense of self.

Curator JoAnn Busuttil will give a lecture on campus in the Main Gallery at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, followed by a reception from 4 to 6 p.m.

A panel discussion will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, in the Main Gallery. Panel participants will be Busuttil, CSUN art professor Betty Brown, and lenders to the exhibit Darrel Couturier and Tere Iturralde.

The Main Gallery is open Monday and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m., and Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
