CSUNıs Art Galleries Have "More in Store"
At This Yearıs High School Art Invitational
(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Oct. 24, 2001) - Cal State Northridgeıs Art Galleries will present the fifth annual high school invitational art exhibit, "More in Store," from Friday, Nov. 30, through Saturday, Jan. 12.
Nearly 300 students from 37 San Fernando Valley high schools are participating this year, signaling the continued growing interest of arts programs in public and private schools.
The studentsı works represent different forms of media, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, video, graphic design and mixed media.
The exhibit will be on display at the Main Gallery located on North University Drive between East University and West University drives on campus.
The Arts Council for CSUN will sponsor an opening reception from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, in the Main Gallery. The evening will feature music by the CSUN African Music Ensemble.
There will be a discussion about the exhibit by gallery director Louise Lewis at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 3, in the Main Gallery.
California State University, Northridge has more than 30,000 full- and part-time students and offers 63 bachelorıs and 51 masterıs degrees. Founded in 1958, it is the only four-year university in the San Fernando Valley and the third largest in the 23-campus CSU system. The Western Association of Schools and Colleges recently said CSUN "stands as a model to other public urban institutions of higher education."
