CSU International Programs Selects 46 CSUN
Students to Study Abroad

(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Nov. 14, 2001) - Forty-six Cal State Northridge students are studying abroad this academic year as part of the California State University¹s International Programs.

Since its inception in 1963, the program has helped CSU students develop their intercultural communication skills and international understanding by providing qualified students an affordable opportunity to continue their studies abroad for a full year while earning resident academic credit at their CSU campus.

Affiliated with more than 70 colleges and universities in 17 countries ‹ Australia, Canada, Chile, Denmark, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and Zimbabwe ‹ the CSU International Programs offers students a wide selection of locations and learning environments.

This year, more than 500 CSU students are participating in the program.

"The study-abroad experience really helps students mature, and it gives them independence," said Marta Rezvani-Lopez, CSUN¹s student exchange and study abroad advisor. "Their participation sets them apart from the rest of the student population."

Rezvani-Lopez is holding general information workshops this semester for students interested in studying abroad for the 2002-2003 academic year. Workshops are followed by individual meetings and assistance with the application process. The deadline to apply is Feb. 1, 2002.
