The colorful, free brochure details the affordable and diverse artistic events Cal State Northridge hosts through the new center.
"2000-2001 is the first full season of the center. Its theme, 'one place - limitless perspective,' reflects our role as a leading site for visual and performing arts in the San Fernando Valley," said William Toutant, interim dean of the College of Arts, Media, and Communication. "As people look through the brochure, I hope they will find something that intrigues them and invite them to visit this 'one place' and be inspired toward a 'limitless perspective.'"
The season includes a performance of the London hit Unforgettable: The Nat King Cole Story; a presentation of Mozart's opera The Magic Flute; and a very rare appearance by the master of Korean traditional dance, Mae-Bang Lee, and his company. A full listing of events is in the brochure.
The Center for the Visual and Performing Arts is a collaboration between the college and the University Student Union and brings all of the university's artistic events under one umbrella.
