Shirley MacLaine Joins CSUN Alum
For Book Fair at Northridge Borders Books
(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Oct. 18, 2000) - Actress/author Shirley MacLaine will join more than 30 best selling authors, all with ties to Cal State Northridge, for the university's first Alumni Authors book signing on Friday, Oct. 27, at Borders Books in the Northridge Fashion Center.
MacLaine will be on hand to talk about her latest book, The Camino: A Journey of the Spirit, and to help CSUN celebrate the literary accomplishments of its alumni.
Gray Mounger, assistant vice president for alumni relations, said he is excited about the event.
"The versatility of our alumni authors, in a variety of subjects and areas of expertise, is a compliment to the education they received at CSUN," Mounger said. "I know all of our alumni will be proud and prospective students, as well as current students, will be impressed."
The signing is free and open to the public. Among those authors taking part are:
- Greg Evans, who graduated with bachelor's degrees in art and English in 1970. Evans is the creator of the nationally syndicated comic "Luann." His books include Luann (The Plunge), Luann: School's OK if You Can Stand the Food, and Passion! Outrage! Revenge: a Luann Book.
