The evening will be hosted by Joseph Stefano, writer of such film classics as "Psycho," "The Black Orchid," "The Naked Edge," and "The Kindred." He also wrote the recently released Al Pacino movie "Two Bits."
The event is free and open to the public. The Academy is located at 5230 Lankershim Blvd. in North Hollywood.
The films to be screened are still going though the selection process at the university, but professor Nate Thomas said they represent the best Cal State Northridge has to offer.
He said all of the films were completed in the senior level course of the Radio-Television-Film Department. All of these films were written, produced and directed by students under the guidance of the film production faculty.
"These productions are designed to prepare students for the world of independent film production," Thomas said. "The RTVF film program students are given the creative freedom to produce what they wish. It is their persistence and tireless dedication that we salute with this screening."
