ADOPT AN UNDERPASS MURAL UNVEILED

Hoping to beautify the community and reduce the incidence of graffiti, Cal State Northridge and the Los Angeles Police Department, Devonshire Division will unveil the ÒAdopt an UnderpassÓ mural at the Plummer Street underpass of the San Diego Freeway (405) on Friday May 24.

The unveiling will take place at 9:00 a.m. at 16100 Plummer St. in North Hills. The ceremony will last approximately 30 minutes with an address by Captain Vance Proctor, Devonshire Area Commanding Officer, and other officials. Refreshments will be served immediately following at Sepulveda Middle School.

The mural, which is dedicated to endangered species, is the culmination of a three month collaboration by Cal State Northridge Art Gallery director Louise Lewis, the Devonshire Community Police Advisory Board, CSUN graduate student and artist Candice OÕCampo, Sepulveda Middle School students, Assemblyman Richard Katz, California Department of Transportation, Operation Clean Sweep Los Angeles, Councilman Richard Alarcon and Mad About Rising Crime (M.A.R.C.) Organization.
