The festival is under the guidance of theater professors Lillian Lehman and Jerry W. Abbitt. Students, faculty and professionals are involved in the acting, design, directing and writing of these plays.
The "Red" Evening, playing April 19, 21, 25 and 27, includes the comedy "Red Spy at Night" by Robert King, directed by Michael Sheets, and an exploration of incest and sexual abuse, "Shattered Secrets," by Libbe S. Halevy, directed by Juan P. Rosales.
The "Blue" Evening, playing April 20, 24, 26 and 28, features "Ships," an original drama about a passing relationship written and directed by Richard de Vere, and "Hello Out There," a classic exploration of a lonely, imprisoned gambler by William Saroyan, directed by Rick Greaver. Also playing that night is "The Meeting," an imaginary confrontation between Malcolm X and Martin Luther King shortly before the former's assassination, by Jeff Stetson, directed by Ron Stacker Thompson.
Both series begins at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and at 5 p.m. on Sunday, with a matinee at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The "Blue" series has an additional 7 p.m. performance on Wednesday.
