MURAL PROJECT DESIGN CREATED BY CSUN STUDENT

A Cal State Northridge art graduate student's design proposal was recently selected for the endangered species themed Mural Project at the 405 Freeway and Plummer Street underpass, which kicks-off April 1.

Candice O'Campo's design incorporates expressionistic desert landscape with plant and animal images drawn by Sepulveda Middle School students. The mural will incorporate bright colors and will have no human figures or text passages.

The mural will be on both walls of the underpass, spanning 8 feet high and 120 feet long on each side.

The mural project is intended to beautify the community and to bring the businesses, volunteers, law enforcement and schools together toward one collaborative goal.

The project is being sponsored by the Los Angeles Police Department's Devonshire Area Community Police Advisory Board along with Mad About Raising Crime, Cal State Northridge and Sepulveda Middle School.
