Students Rally In Support of Million Man March
Northridge - Hundreds of Cal State Northridge students will rally Monday, Oct. 16, in support of the hundreds of thousands of African American men taking part in the Million Man March in Washington D.C. that same day.
The rally is expected to begin at 8 a.m., on the lawn in front of the Oviatt Library in the center of campus, and continue through the lunch hour, ending about 1:30 p.m. The campus is located at 18111 Nordhoff St.
The Northridge rally is being organized by the university's Black Student Union. Among its goals are:
- Register 500 people to vote in the state and national elections;
- Develop a coalition based on student and community issues;
- Generate awareness of current political issues;
- Award and recognize outstanding students for their scholarship.
