Students to Compete in Knowledge Bowl

The Future Scholars Program will host its annual academic competition at Cal State Northridge Friday, May 3, in the University Student Union.

More than 350 students will participate in the event, competing in such categories as math, essay writing, a spelling bee and a knowledge bowl.

Schools competing include Byrd, Maclay, Olive Vista, Pacoima, Porter, Portola, San Fernando and Sepulveda middle schools.

The program is designed to expose students to the university environment and give them an opportunity to meet university faculty and staff.

The competition is 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the union located near the center of the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St. in Northridge.
