PRESS RELEASE
April 11, 1995
The theme of the series is based on a phrase from Shakespeare's King Lear: "Who are we? Does anyone know our name?"
The monthly forums focus on issues and problems faced by students belonging to different campus communities, and address ways that faculty, students and staff can be most effective in working with these students.
Next month's forum, on May 11, will deal with the concerns of Latino and Latina students.
The forum on issues facing gay, lesbian and bisexual students is scheduled from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the Santa Clarita Room of the University Student Union in the middle of the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St.
The form will be facilitated by campus activities director Tom Piernik. Presenters will include Elizabeth Say, acting chair of the Religious Studies Department; Byron Howlett, resident director in Housing Services; Hector Ramirez, a student leader with the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual Community Resource Center; and Shannon Crouse, a student athlete.
