

In lieu of gifts, guests at the reception are being asked to
make a donation to support the university's Presidential
Scholars program for high-achieving students. The reception
will be from 4-7 p.m., with a brief program led by CSUN
Interim President Louanne Kennedy scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
Wilson-CSUN's third president, who has led the campus since
September 1992-is leaving after the spring semester to become
the first president and CEO of the Nellie Mae Foundation. The
New England-based organization works to promote quality
education in that region, particularly for under-served
groups.
The University Club reception will include light snacks and
refreshments. Those wishing to attend should RSVP by May 20,
either by e-mail to academic.affairs@csun.edu, or by
telephone to University Relations at (818) 677-5669 during
business hours Monday through Friday.
Contributions to the Presidential Scholars program, launched
during Wilson's nearly seven-year tenure as CSUN president,
should be made out to the "CSUN Foundation-BJW Presidential
Scholars Fund" and be mailed to University Relations, 18111
Nordhoff St., Northridge, CA 91330-8275.
Campus and community members also are being invited to
contribute special photographs, notes or mementos to a memory
book that will be given to the president. Submissions
likewise should be sent to CSUN University Relations by
Monday, May 17 at the same address listed above.
Campus to Host Farewell Reception for Blenda Wilson
Submissions for Memory Book Being Sought;
Cal State Northridge is hosting a farewell reception for
departing university President Blenda J. Wilson and her
husband, Louis Fair Jr., on Monday, May 24 at the University
Club. The event is open to both campus community members and
friends of the university in the San Fernando Valley.
