For Your Information publishes announcements of public meetings, notices, , classes and courses of interest to the university community. The deadline for submitting items generally is noon on Monday, one week before the issue appears.
This is the final @CSUN of the 2001-2002 academic year. The 2002-2003 schedule, listing @CSUN publication dates and deadlines for submitting information, will be distributed on campus before the start of the fall 2002 semester.
We strive to include all items submitted by deadline occurring during the two-week period until the next issue. Items further in advance will be run on a space-available basis.

Department Chair Reappointment
Provost Louanne Kennedy has announced the reappointment of Steven Stepanek as department chair for the Computer Science Department for a three-year term.

- Elizabeth Berry, as chair of the Communication Studies Department effective Wed., Aug. 21, 2002 for a one-year term.
- Nancy Bishop, as chair of the Biology Department effective Wed., Aug. 21, 2002 for a three-year term.

Solicitation for Comment
The College of Education will be visited by an accreditation team from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) from Sat., Nov. 16 through Wed., Nov. 20, 2002. Individuals who would like to offer third-party comment on the quality of the professional education programs offered by the College of Education may do so by submitting a letter addressed to: Board of Examiners, National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, 2010 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Suite 500, Washington D.C. 20036-1023.

President Wilson Reception
Members of the campus community are invited to attend a reception for former Northridge President Blenda Wilson on Fri., May 31, at 2 p.m. on the second floor breezeway of University Hall. Those wishing to attend the reception should RSVP to Doretta Crawford at x6000.
Alzheimer's Conference
CSUN's interdisciplinary gerontology program and the greater San Fernando Valley office of the Alzheimer's Association of Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties are presenting a conference to honor people who provide care to Alzheimer's patients. "For All You Do, This Day's For You: Help Your Loved One by Helping Yourself" will be held from 9 a.m-4 p.m. Sat., June 1 in the University Student Union Grand Salon. $10 donation covers parking, food and conference materials. fmi-Debra Sheets, x2344.
Grad & Alumni Job Fair
The Career Center is hosting its Recent Grad and Alumni Job Fair 2002 on Wed., June 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the University Student Union. More than 60 companies will be represented. Workshops and clinics on resumes, interviewing and other job hunting skills, some requiring advance sign-up, will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. fmi-www.csun.edu/career or x2878.
Mary Cleary Memorial
A campus memorial service for Mary Cleary, the wife of former Cal State Northridge President James Cleary, will be held from 3-5 p.m. Tue., June 11 in the University Student Union Grand Salon. Mary Cleary passed away Wed., April 24, at age 74 in Boise, Idaho after a 12-year battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Former President Cleary and family members are planning to attend the memorial. Campus community members wishing to attend should RSVP to Doretta Crawford at x6000.
Tom Reilly Celebration
A reception celebrating the life of emeritus journalism professor Tom Reilly, who died in May, has been set for Wed., June 12, from 6-8 p.m. in the University Club. During his 32 years on campus, Reilly touched the lives of many people-students, faculty and administrators. The evening will celebrate his many accomplishments and honor his contributions to the students and programs of the Journalism Department. fmi-Vicki Morton, x3135.

Health/Safety Workshops
The Office of Environmental Health and Occupational Safety offers a variety of health and safety workshops. For reservations, call x2401. The upcoming classes will take place in the Oviatt Library, Human Resource training room 16:
- General Safety (Injury & Illness Prevention Program): 10-11 a.m. Fri., June 14. This course is required for all CSUN employees.
- Ergonomics: 10-11 a.m. Tue.,
June 17. Participants will learn techniques to customize their workstations and tasks, identify potential problems and begin implementing solutions.
- Hazard Communication: 10-11 a.m. Fri., June 28. This is required training for those who work with hazardous substances on the job.
Faculty Computer Workshops
The offices of Undergraduate Studies and Online Instruction are sponsoring faculty computer workshops to facilitate online teaching and learning. All workshops will be held in the faculty lab in Sierra Hall, fourth floor, room 442. Any of the workshops may be taken individually and assume no prior knowledge. Before taking a workshop, you must sign up for a WebCT account on that particular topic at www.csun.edu/~webteach/WebCTHelp.html. For reservations call x6558.
