
Honorary doctorates of humane letters will be awarded to Dolores Huerta, co-founder with Cesar Chavez of the United Farm Workers of America, and Alan Armer, former faculty member and Emmy award-winning writer. Armer and his wife, Elaine, donated $1 million to build a state-of-the-art screening room in Manzanita Hall.
Huerta will be the featured speaker at the College of Humanities commencement ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Wed., May 29, on the Oviatt Library Lawn. Armer will receive his honorary degree at the Arts, Media and Communication ceremony at 8 a.m. Fri., May 31, on the Oviatt Library Lawn.
