Matthew Penn(Physics & Astronomy)received $49,688 from the National Science Foundation in support of a project titled "Space Weather: Infrared Diagnostic Development."

J. Douglas Yule(Geological Sciences)received $48,000 from the University of Southern California in support of a project titled "Neotectonic and Paleoseismic Investigation of the San Andreas Fault System, San Gorgonio Pass."

Elliot McIntire(Geography)received $37,496 from the U.S. Navy in continuing support of a project titled "A Climatic Monitoring Program for the San Clemente Island, CA."

Deborah Chen(Special Education)received $30,131 from the U.S. Department of Education/Cal State Los Angeles in continuing support of a project titled "Preparation of Leadership Personnel in Low Incidence Early Childhood."

Sabina Magliocco(Anthropology)received $24,000 from the National Endowment for the Humanities in support of a project titled "Folklore and the Making of American Neo-Paganism."

Dee Shepherd-Look(Psychology)received $24,000 from the North Los Angeles County Regional Center in support of a project titled "Parent Child Interaction Training."

Gerry Simila(Geological Sciences) received $14,983 from the University of Southern California in support of a project titled "Los Angeles Regional Seismic Experiment (LARSE) Phase II: Auxiliary Lines Investigation of the Shallow Crustal Structure of the San Fernando Valley."

Vicki Ebin(Health Sciences)received $12,062 from RAND in support of project titled " The Coverage Decision Making Study."

Gerry Simila(Geological Sciences)received $10,000 from NASA/Cal State Long Beach in continuing support of a project titled "Project Alert at CSUN."

Maria Elena Zavala(Biology)received $10,000 from the National Science Foundation for a "Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics & Engineering Mentoring."

Claire Cavallaro(Special Education)received $10,000 from the West End Special Education Local Plan Area in support of a project titled "Special Education Literacy Library."

Elena Marchisotto(Mathematics)received $9,000 from UC Berkeley as supplemental support of a project titled "High School Mathematics from an Advanced Standpoint."

Allen Martin(Family Environmental Sciences)received $7,500 from the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences to help further his study of the consumer literacy of recent Hispanic immigrants.

Donald Bleich(Finance) received $5,800 from Sacramento State in continuing support of a project titled "Real Estate Education Endowment Program Improvement Grants."

Stephanie Satie(English)received a $4,700 grant from the Los Angeles City Department of Cultural Affairs to support performances of her solo play "Refugees".

Alan Glassman(Management) received $4,000 from Occidental College in continuing support of a project titled "NSF-AIRE Grant Assessment Contract, Summer 2000."

Heinrich Falk(Theatre)received $3,500 from the Spanish Embassy in support of project titled " 'Teatro del Pueblo': Theatre in Republican Spain's Rural Villages." He also received $3,000 from SOCCIS in support of a project titled "Shanghai Theatre Academy Workshops, Exchanges and Performances."
