CSUN Youth Orchestras

The CSUN Youth Orchestras were founded in 1970 to provide a broad and thorough training in orchestra performance to the young people of the greater Los Angeles area. Noted for its comprehensive program, the orchestras have provided many professional musicians with a solid foundation in orchestral training. The young orchestras currently serve about two hundred young musicians, ranging in age from six to eighteen, in four orchestras. In addition to full orchestra rehearsals, students in the four orchestras often receive sectional coaching by CSUN music faculty and professional musicians from throughout the Los Angeles area. The orchestras are open to any pre-college musician currently in a public, private, or home school. Please see our audition page for specific audition information and our season calendar for concert and repertoire information.
