Acceptance into the Quartet is based on musical ability, leadership qualities, ensemble skills, teamwork, and a commitment to the Quartet's purpose, which consists of Educational Outreach, Community Service, and Professional Experience. Performances have included such venues as AIDS Walk Los Angeles, the Summerville Retirement Center, the Social Venture Network Conference, the CSUN Music Showcase, and private performances for special occasions. The Northridge Flute Quartet has a widely varied repertoire. The members study not only standard classical quartet selections, but also light classical favorites and popular works arranged for their instrumentation.
