Sandra Kipp received her B.M. degree, cum laude, and Master’s degree with distinction from California State University, Northridge. She began teaching privately in 1979 and is on the Music Faculty of California State University, Northridge, Moorpark College, and the Pasadena Music Conservatory.
Ms. Kipp is an instructor for the Pasadena Symphony Mentor Program and has performed with the Pasadena Symphony, Symphony in the Glen, Long Beach Symphony, Los Angeles Master Chorale, Glendale Symphony, Los Angeles Classical Ballet, and the Burbank Chamber Orchestra. She has toured Japan, Mexico, Europe, and the Caribbean and has performed in masterclasses with flutists Jean-Pierre Rampal, William Bennett, and Geoffrey Gilbert, and with composer/conductor Pierre Boulez. Her most influential private instructors were Geraldine Rotella, Anne Diener Zentner, and James Walker. She is founder and contractor of Sterling and Strings Chamber Music and is a member of The Nuance Ensemble, Artists-in-Residence at Moorpark College. She has received a number of awards throughout the years—including Outstanding Master’s Degree Graduate, Academic Achievement Award, American Legion Award, Glenn Hedge Memorial Scholarship, and the Metropolitan Fine Arts Scholarship.
Ms. Kipp is a member of the Music Teachers’ Association of California, a frequent soloist, and adjudicates numerous music competitions.
