Dr. Zakeri is a professor at California State University, Northridge, where he received the CSUN Distinguished Teaching Award for 1993 and Mathematical Asociation of America-Southern California Distinguished Teaching Award for College and University in 1998. Prior to joining CSUN, he was an associate professor at the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse, where he enjoyed "catching waves" on the Mississippi River. He earned his B.S. degree from Jundi-Shapour University, M.S. degree from Michigan State University, and he received his Ph.D. in mathematics from Kansas State University in 1985. His research intersts include applied mathematics and numerical analysis for partial differential equations. He is the wonderful faculty advisor of the Math Club, and enjoys running and hiking.
