
1. CSET -- adopted by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing to evaluate subject- matter competence of applicants for the Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Replaces the Multiple Subjects Assessment Test (MSAT).
2. Emphasis is on subject matter. Therefore, CSET is more like a final exam rather than an aptitude test.
3. No penalty for guessing.
4. Non programmable calculator will be provided at test site. Must return after the test.
5. CSET covers 8 Areas:
A. Subtest 1 – Reading,
Language,
and Literature
B. Subtest 2 -- Science and
Mathematics
C. Subtest 3 – Physical
Education,
Human Development, Visual and Performing Arts
6. Two Basic Questions: Multiple Choice (MC) – Short Constructed Response (SCR) (paragraph to short essay responses):

8. Scoring: Each subtest is scored from 100 – 300, with minimum pass being 220.
