Ron Saito started his career doing production and copywriting using one of the earliest personal computer publishing systems on the market—the Apple Lisa/Compugraphic PCS. Since then, he wrote and directed instructional videos for VideoTutor, designed and programmed broadcast management software for Olelo access TV, designed instructional software for IBM, and served as a consultant, designer and computer programmer for the Teaching and Learning Technologies Lab in Bloomington, Indiana.

Ron's dissertation described instructional social computer simulation from a Heideggerian perspective. His publications/exhibitions include work in digital media (SIGGRAPH, Leonardo/MIT, AIGA Loop) and instructional design (Educational Technology, AECT, IDT Record). Recently, Ron has designed video projections for theatrical productions including Why Does the Jasmine Turn Counterclockwise (Korean Cultural Center), Prodigal Daughter (Korean Cultural Center), Pugilist Specialist (Elephant Space Theater), Hero (Studio Stage Theater), Dying Gaul (Elephant Space Theater), and Shim Ch'ong, (Getty Center/National Theater of Korea). His theater work has been reviewed in the LA Times, LA Weekly and Backstage West
