CSUN's Foundation Program lays the groundwork for a lifetime of creative practice by focusing on the development of skills common to all the visual arts. Students will study the elements and principles of design in relation to 2D, 3D, and Time Based (4D) creative practice, and will choose two out of three Art History surveys. Students will learn design fundamentals, basic drawing, life drawing, art history, computer skills, 3D construction techniques, craftsmanship, critique/presentation skills and color theory as part of foundation study.
