(Closed November 11 and 26 - 29 )
Opening Reception: Friday, October 23 7- 9pm
Gallery Talk: Monday, October 26 10am

Associated American Artists: Art by Subscription features over 70 etchings, wood engravings, aquatints and mezzotints by 40 artists including Thomas Hart Benton, John Steuart Curry, Doris Lee, Reginald Marsh and Grant Wood.

In 1933, America was gripped by an economic depression and was one of the most trying times in American history. At that time, art dealer and marketer, Reeves Lewenthal organized Associated American Artists (AAA), conceived to distribute affordable, original art to every American. During their first 20 years, AAA had grown to international importance. The evidence of the cultural impact was everywhere, in the nation's homes, greeting cards and apparel. This exhibition is organized by the Springfield Museum of Art, Springfield Ohio and tour management is provided by Smith and Kramer Fine Art Services, Kansas City, Missouri.
