About us
Founded in 1971, the Arts Council serves as a community resource for California State University, Northridge in its sponsorship and presentation of the arts and their educational programs. Specifically created to support the Art Galleries, Departments of Music and Theatre, the Arts Council for CSUN provides ushering assistance during musical and theatre performances as well as staffing and conducting tours in the Main Art Gallery.
The Arts Council provides funding for annular student awards and additional gifts to the departments when requested. Funds are derived from membership dues, donations and various fund raising events held throughout the year.

The Arts Council manages and operates the Art Gallery Store and the Music Shoppe (Cypress Hall) with proceeds going directly towards the Gallery program and Music Department respectively.
