The Course
The catalog description for Math 131 states: "General Education course intended to acquaint the student with basic mathematical ideas." This is about as vague a course description as you'll find in the catalog. We'll have to fill this empty shell with some substance. I have sevreal topics in mind that I would like to work on with you. If you have topics in mind that you would like to work on please let me know. The syllabus, if one exist at all, is very flexible.

There is no textbook for this course. We will use freely availbale resources as needed.

Bring an open mind and a willingness to engage with mathematical ideas. This class will be driven by student inquiry.
Work Habits
I expect you to complete work on time and with care. If you need help, you should contact me or class mates right away. Learning is NOT a spectator sport.
