GROUP PRJECT

A.          Media Production:

Working in groups, class participants will select a health issue, target group, and media approach (i.e., video production or webpage) and develop a health education project using the media approach they have selected.

The specifics of this assignment will be discussed in the first few class sessions. Near the end of the semester, groups will present their productions to the class. During this presentation, the group will discuss their production work including their target group, health education objectives for the production, how it will be implemented, and their strategies for evaluating the effectiveness of their production in meeting stated measurable objectives. The class and the course instructor will evaluate the Group presentation. The entire group shall share the Mean score of points accumulated in this evaluation.

                                                                           OR

Working in groups, class participants will select a health issue and target group and develop a public communication campaign applying the principles and practices of campaign design and implementation as discussed in class sessions and readings. The campaign plan with all supporting materials will be presented in class and evaluated as described previously. Groups choosing this project may wish to use the class as a "focus group" for trying out their messages and campaign ideas.
