Project Prospectus Paper
(30 Points Total)
The following elements are to be addressed in the Project Prospectus Paper:
1. Target Subject for the study:
Identify the subject of your study using ethnographic and available demographic data to begin to paint a picture of the general characteristics of your study subject. Remember to maintain their anonymity. (5 points)
2. Rationale for choosing your subject:
What was it about your subject that interested you in working with them (availability, health issue, etc.). Please be clear and specific in your discussion. (5 points)
3. Health-related behavior to be addressed in the project:
Provide a preliminary discussion of the health-related behavioral problem you will be addressing in your project. You may wish to include some history of the problem at this time though this will be covered in some detail in your second paper. (15 points)
4. Projection of success in dealing with your subject and their health issue:
Given what you know at this time about your subject, discuss your perceptions regarding how successful you feel you will be in helping your client to make the changes your client and you have agreed to work on. (5 points)
Format of Papers:
All papers will be formatted to include an introduction, major subheadings reflecting the required elements for each paper and a summary paragraph. Be sure to include references where appropriate and a bibliography where references are used A failure to not follow format rules will result in point losses.
Note:
It is expected that you will demonstrate some understanding of the health area in which you are working with your subject via literature citations related to the health issue you are dealing with. This should be reflected at least initially in your discussion of item #3 above.
