Welcome to the California State University, Northridge (CSUN) School Nurse Credential Program.
CSUN is approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education to offer all of the courses required for the Ryan School Nurse Credential (Health Services Credential Authorizing Services as a School Nurse).  The program is open to school nurses who are Registered Nurses with a baccalaureate degree.

Preliminary School Nurse Credential
A preliminary credential authorizing  service for five years as a School Nurse can be recommended by the Credential Preparation Office or through the applicant's employer for any candidate who:
Holds a valid California Registered Nurse License;
Has an acceptable baccalaureate degree; and
Has admission to the CSUN School Nurse program.

Professional Clear School Nurse Credential
A professional clear credential will be recommended by the Credential Preparation Office when the candidate has met the following three requirements:
Possession of a Preliminary School Nurse Credential;
Two years or the equivalent of successful service as a school nurse; and
Successful completion of the CSUN School Nurse program.
