Practitioners representing both academic and healthcare field settings will provide participants with knowledge and skills designed to enhance their expertise in designing cultural assessment tools for the settings they work in. A practitioner panel will share their experiences in cultural assessment design, implementation and evaluation with an emphasis on what worked, barriers that were encountered, and tips for developing cultural assessment surveys. Participants will then have an opportunity to engage in an experiential exercise in which they will work in teams to develop a basic cultural assessment instrument based on a case study provided to them.
