English 1A Web Project: Sp01

Purpose of the Web Project

Group members will work individually and collaboratively to build both private and public online spaces which reflect the class readings and discussions. The public spaces (the central project rooms) will provide resources for the present class as well as future classes. Private spaces should reflect the individual's areas of interests; public spaces should welcome visitors to the MOO who might like to explore the different topic areas. Assume an audience who will be looking for more information on each group's given topic.

Project Checklist

One Central Web Project Room
Each class will design a central room with exits to areas where individuals can link their annotated bibliography rooms. Team members will @dig and @describe the Web Project rooms we agree on in class. Students may use other rooms, a bot, a slide projector, notes, or any other MOO objects at their disposal to develop their projects. Notes or a URL room may be used to build a bibliography of offline resources.
An "Annotated URL Room"
All members of the group will enter the findings from their internet searches, including annotations. The annotated URL rooms will hold appropriate Internet sources for the project. All links must include annotations which evaluate the context and content, analyzing strengths and weaknesses as well as assessing the aesthetics of stylistic presentation. Practical considerations such as site reliabilty, accessibilty, and download time should also be assessed. @go to that room then type @chparent here to #1906

will return help on the room.
Be sure to @dig exit an exit back to your personal space.
@dig exitname to #xxxxx <--- where you type in the number of the room your exit is going to.
Individual Private Spaces: Students may @dig an exit to the main Web Project room or rooms depending on what the class decides, but the exits must be consistent with the project tone.
